About the Position:
Reporting to the Resident Manager, the Assistant Resident Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the property, ensuring a well-maintained, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. This position supports the upkeep of the building, including entrances, common areas, sidewalks, and roadways, while also serving as a responsive and reliable point of contact for residents. The Assistant Resident Manager is on-site and available to address resident needs, foster positive relationships, and respond promptly to any maintenance or emergency situations
Compensation Structure:
This is a live-in position meaning you will be provided an apartment fully paid for (as part of your annual compensation) valued between $1550-$1895 per month.
On top of this, you will receive an annual salary of $32,000 plus benefits.
Key Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning of the lobby and laundry rooms to maintain a clean and welcoming environment
- Vacuum corridors twice weekly, or as required
- Clean and maintain stairwells weekly, or as needed
- Complete painting and touch-ups in common areas and suites as required to uphold property standards
- Respond to resident requests and concerns in a respectful, professional, and timely manner
- Maintain a strong understanding of emergency procedures and respond appropriately when needed
- Monitor and report any unusual activity, ensuring accurate and thorough communication logs are completed
- Provide coverage for the Resident Manager during absences, including vacations
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience in building maintenance, property management, or a similar hands-on role is required (e.g., basic repairs, painting, general upkeep)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” approach to maintenance tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a resident-first mindset
- Able to work independently while taking initiative and ownership of responsibilities
- Reliable, responsive, and comfortable handling urgent or after-hours situations as needed
