Maintenance Technician
About the Role
This is not your typical maintenance role.
We’re looking for someone who takes real pride in their work — someone who wants ownership, not just a checklist. This is a foundational position within a 277-unit residential building, where you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the standards of the property from the ground up.
You’ll have the autonomy to run your space like it’s your own — bringing your tools, your expertise, and your passion to create a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment that residents are proud to call home.
If you’re someone who notices the details others miss, enjoys solving problems, and wants to take true ownership of a property — this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs, including appliance repair, painting, plastering, and light plumbing and electrical work
- Maintain the cleanliness and overall condition of common areas and prepare vacant suites for new residents (turnovers, touch-ups, repairs)
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests and concerns
- Conduct regular inspections of the property, building systems, and grounds — proactively identifying and addressing issues before they escalate
- Complete general repairs across all areas of a multi-family residential building
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors for specialized repairs and projects
- Ensure life safety systems, fire regulations, and building standards are consistently met
- Deliver a high level of customer service and contribute to a positive, well-maintained community environment
- Participate in evening and weekend on-call rotation, as required
What You Bring
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a true hands-on / do-it-yourself mindset
- Proven experience in facility, commercial, or multi-family residential maintenance
- Ability to confidently complete appliance repair, painting, plastering, and light plumbing and electrical work
- Ownership of your own tools and the ability to use them effectively in a professional environment
- Pride in your work, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Excellent customer service and communication skills when working with residents and vendors
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks effectively
- Comfort with basic technology (email, text, MS Office; Yardi experience is an asset)
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to respond to after-hours or emergency maintenance calls, as required
- Ability to successfully complete a credit and criminal background check
